The renovation of secondary water supply in 200 residential areas will be completed within this year

This year, more high-rise residents in the old community will not drink tank water, but clean heart water. Reporters learned from the city water Bureau, the lunar New Year just passed, the city started a number of old residential areas on the secondary water supply project plan, this year the city will complete 200 residential secondary water supply transformation. By the end of the year, the city will have 600,000 old residential residents drink relaxation water.

Secondary water supply refers to the urban water supply through the storage of secondary water supply facilities, pressure, and then sent to the user of water supply. Compared with the direct water supply, the secondary water supply has increased the facilities and links such as pools, water tanks, pressurization and so on. The facilities are not built according to the standard specifications, "congenital deficiency" or ineffective maintenance and management in the later period, and the cleaning and disinfection are not in place, which are easy to cause secondary pollution. Every summer peak water use, some high floors often face the problem of unstable water pressure. In some old residential areas in our city, the operation and maintenance of secondary water supply facilities are responsible for by property management units or owners. Due to the high mobility of the personnel of the property management enterprises in the community, the unprofessional personnel of the water pipe, the low standard of the secondary water supply facilities, and the inability of the owners' committee to perform their duties normally, many of the secondary water supply facilities in the community are not maintained in place, the pipeline leaks for a long time, and the water tank is not cleaned and disinfected according to regulations, which not only causes the waste of water resources and water fee disputes. And to the water quality safety, building safety are a big hidden danger.

The implementation of the renovation of residential secondary water supply facilities is to transform the secondary water supply pipelines, pools (boxes) and pumping stations in these old residential areas, replace the corroded and aging cast iron pipes, galvanized pipes and other outdated pipes with new healthy and environmentally friendly pipes, and implement automatic operation of the pumping stations. After the renovation, Nanjing Water Group directly reads meters to households, pipes water to households, implements professional management and services, and better guarantees the safety of water supply quality and the stability of water pressure.

"In the past, in the summer, when the water consumption peak at night, the faucet turned on the water at home is very small, take a bath can only wait until after 10 PM, sometimes the water out of the pipe has impurities." According to a resident of Sipingyuan Community in Gulou District, these problems have been solved since the community completed a secondary water supply renovation last year, and residents living in high-rise buildings have access to clean and stable direct water supply. It is reported that since August 2015, our city has started a new round of reconstruction of secondary water supply facilities, and plans to basically complete the reconstruction of residential secondary water supply facilities within the water supply scope of the six districts of the main city and Nanjing Water Group (the former Nanjing Water Supply Company) before January 1, 2008. At present, the city has completed the secondary water supply transformation of 286 residential areas, the city has about 300,000 residents drink relaxation water.

It is reported that in accordance with the construction purpose of easy first and difficult later, 2017 is the round of secondary water supply facilities renovation "gnawing", "fighting a tough battle" year. According to the plan, the renovation of the remaining 200 residential communities will be completed this year, of which 24 communities are expected to be completed before the Spring Festival, and the remaining 176 communities will be built in March this year. After the renovation of the 200 residential areas, 600,000 households in the city will have access to direct water supply.
