As a riverside and cross-river city, Nanjing is nurtured by the Yangtze River and shares weal and woe with it. As a riverside district, Qixia District has dense water network and criss-cross waters. The total water area of the district is about 106.21 square kilometers, accounting for 28.24 % of the total area of the district. However, in recent years, in order to solve the environmental problems, Qixia District has thoroughly implemented the concept of "lucid waters and lush mountains are gold hills and silver mountains", firmly promoted industrial transformation and upgrading, and resolutely eliminated backward production capacity with the determination of "breaking one's arm" and the courage of "scraping the bone to heal the wound".

Rectification of the Yangtze River chaos, beautiful coastline back to the public

The problem is in the water, the root is on the shore. For some time, the problem of disorderly occupation, disorderly construction and disorderly discharge along the Yangtze River bank has been serious. Sand factories, docks, illegal construction enterprises, and "three no ships" have become scars along the Yangtze River bank.
