Before the deep treatment and transformation, according to the current situation of the water source, most water plants adopt conventional treatment technology, that is, the use of coagulation, precipitation, filtration, disinfection and other processes to treat colloidal substances, suspended substances and pathogenic microorganisms in the water, so as to treat the raw water into tap water in line with the drinking water quality sanitation standards. "The conventional water treatment technology of our city water plant is mature, the cost of water production is low, and the water purification effect is guaranteed." Ge Ling introduced that, from the water quality self-inspection of water supply enterprises in recent years, water quality monitoring and health supervision results of the industry authorities, the city's tap water quality has reached the national drinking water sanitation standards, leaving the factory water quality stability is good.
However, although the conventional water treatment technology can meet the national water quality standard under normal circumstances, it will affect the water supply quality when the raw water quality is threatened by pollution. Ge Ling introduced that the advanced treatment of tap water is based on the conventional water treatment, adding ozone, activated carbon and other processes, the conventional treatment is difficult to remove bacteria, viruses, macromolecular organic matter and "two insects" (cryptosporidium, Giardia) based on the strong chlorine resistance of the microorganisms. At the same time, it can effectively reduce the content of ammonia nitrogen, permanganate, pigment and algae in water.
Before 2018, the city had completed the in-depth treatment and transformation of Chengnan Water Plant, Longtan Water Plant, Jiangpu Water Plant, Beihekou Water Plant Phase I and Binjiang Water Plant Phase I. This year, the in-depth treatment and renovation of tap water is one of the key facts concerning people's livelihood. The renovation projects of Beihekou, Shangyuanmen, Chengbei, Pukou, Gaochun, Jiangning Development Zone, Jiangning Science Park, Ancient Phase I and other water plants have been implemented. By the end of this year, the city's deep treatment rate of 100\%, the city's deep treatment rate of 95.3\%, will be in the leading level in the province, by the end of next year will fully realize the city's deep treatment rate of 100 %.
