This year, we will complete the task of improving 109 black and smelly river channels

Yesterday was the first working day of the New Year. In the morning, our city held the municipal winter and spring water construction promotion meeting to deploy the key tasks of the city's water construction in the New Year. The meeting confirmed that, as a major measure to implement the deployment of the provincial and municipal Party Congress and the provincial Committee Standing Committee to investigate the working spirit of Nanjing, and promote the action of "two minus six treatment and three improvement", the city will complete 109 black and smelly river remediation tasks this year. Wu Zhenglong, deputy secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, asked in the instructions that the municipal Party Committee and the municipal government set the goals and tasks, all districts and departments must work together to complete, to the provincial Party Committee, the provincial government and the people of the city to hand over satisfactory answers. Mayor Miao Ruilin addressed the meeting, Vice Mayor Hua Jing presided over the meeting.

On the basis of the solid achievements made in the municipal water construction last year, this year, the city will continue to accelerate the improvement of black and smelly river, river and lake flood control, water supply and sewage treatment and other 20 key water projects, to promote the city's water ecological environment quality and water conservancy basic modernization level further. As the top priority of water construction this year, our city will continue to implement the people's livelihood water construction focusing on the black and smelly river control battle, to complete the South Yudai River, Pearl River and other 109 black and smelly river control, in addition, will also complete 200 old residential secondary water supply transformation and 100 km urban and rural water supply pipeline transformation projects, to better benefit urban and rural residents. "Water control is not only needed for development, but also desired by people's livelihood." Miao Ruilin pointed out that water environment construction is an important livelihood work to significantly improve the appearance of urban and rural areas, enhance the image of cities, and improve people's well-being. All levels and departments should further enhance their understanding, strengthen their sense of responsibility, roll up their sleeves and work harder, stick to their goals and make unremitting efforts to ensure the completion of tasks. We need to focus on key areas, resolutely win the battle of water development, give greater priority to water development for people's livelihood, comprehensively consolidate the foundation for flood control, drainage and disaster reduction, continue to strengthen rural water conservancy construction, comprehensively improve the quality of the water environment, and deepen water reform and innovation. In particular, for the improvement of 109 black and smelly river channels, all levels and departments should strengthen the awareness of objectives, problem-oriented, scientific overall planning, adhere to source control and pollution prevention, drainage and water diversion, scientific management of multiple measures, and address both symptoms and root causes. At the same time, they should implement the work objectives and requirements, publish the remediation tasks, promotion timing, responsibility list to the society, and accept social supervision.

Miao Ruilin stressed that it is necessary to strengthen overall planning and coordination, comprehensively consolidate responsibility, strengthen process management, strengthen departmental coordination, strengthen supervision and assessment, mobilize the participation of the whole people, build and share, and form a joint force in water construction. In particular, Miao Ruilin pointed out that in the construction process of various water control projects, careful organization should be made to minimize construction barriers and road occupation, reduce repeated excavation and construction waste, and reduce the impact on residents' life and travel, so as to really do practical things well and improve the awareness, participation, satisfaction and sense of gain of citizens on water construction.
