Nanjing plans to basically eliminate bad V water bodies next year

From August 20 to 22, the 17th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 16th Nanjing People's Congress was held. Nanjing Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee "Nanjing Water Environment Protection Regulations" law enforcement inspection group reported the implementation of the regulations inspection results.

From the inspection situation, the city's water environment quality improved steadily. From January to June, the water quality of the sections above the examination in 22 provinces all reached the standard; Water quality in seven provincial-controlled tributary sections of the Jinchuan River and the Waiqinhuai River continued to improve, and in the first half of this year, the water quality in these sections was eliminated from the inferior Ⅴ category. The standard reaching rate of 10 centralized drinking water sources in the city is stable at 100\% for a long time.

In April, the law enforcement inspection team of the Standing Committee of Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress conducted a law enforcement inspection on the implementation of the Law of the People's Republic of China on Water Pollution Prevention and Control in Nanjing. The feedback includes 18 problems such as black odor in Jiaowa river channel. "Seven of the 18 problems have been rectified, and engineering measures have been taken for the remaining 11 and are being carried out in an orderly way." According to the law enforcement inspection report, six problems related to the Jiangbei New Area, including the black and smelly river channels of Jiaowa River and Jiangqiao River and the dirty and bad surrounding environment, have been rectified, and the other four are being carried out in an orderly way. One problem involved in Xuanwu District has been rectified; Of the two problems in Qinhuai District, one has been rectified and the transformation project of the inlet channel of the Youyi River Pumping Station is progressing on time. The Liwei River and Longjiang River water quality improvement projects in Gulou District are progressing on time. One problem in Qixia District and Yuhuatai District has been rectified. Among the four problems involved in Jiangning District, one has been rectified. The installation and commissioning of sewage treatment equipment in Caocun Pump Station and Yangchen Pump Station are expected to be completed by the end of September, and the discharge has reached the standard.

"The municipal government and relevant departments have adopted the method of making a list of the identified problems and managing the cancellation of registration numbers, and have achieved phased results." In the next step, the municipal government will further accelerate the water quality improvement project of 163 river channels, and the plan is to basically eliminate the substandard V water bodies by 2020.
