Bad V water will be basically eliminated in the city this year

This year is the end of the three-year action plan for water control. How to improve the city's water environment? The reporter learned from the municipal water Bureau that this year's water control to achieve five goals, one of which is the basic elimination of inferior V class water bodies in the whole city.

It is reported that the five goals are: 22 provinces and countries have tested surface water quality standards; Strive to maintain a good proportion of 100\%; Water quality in 7 sections of provincial controlled tributaries reached the standard. The inferior V class has been completely eliminated in 21 branches of the river controlled by the city. Bad V water bodies have been basically eliminated in the whole city.

To achieve these five goals, the municipal water department will focus on five aspects of the project. First, we will comprehensively improve the water environment of rivers and lakes.  We will complete a comprehensive assessment of the long-term treatment and cleaning of black and odorous water bodies that have been remediated in urban areas, and carry out the designation of substandard V water bodies. Second, we will make all-out efforts to improve the comprehensive treatment of tributaries. We will speed up the restoration of the outer Jinchuan River bank belt, the dredging of the Outer Qinhuai River, the restoration of the east branch of the northern Ten Li Changgou, and the restoration of the Benmin River and Qixiang River tributaries into the river. Third, nationwide construction of sewage infrastructure will be accelerated. We will accelerate the renovation and expansion of 14 830,000 tons/day sewage treatment plants in Chengnan, Jiangning Chengdong, and Jiangbei New District, including Dachang, and strive to increase the annual sewage treatment capacity by more than 400,000 tons/day. To ensure that the sewage treatment facilities coverage rate of urban planned villages and natural villages reaches 100\% and 70\% respectively, and the operation rate of facilities reaches more than 95\%. Fourth, we will work at full speed to improve the quality and efficiency of sewage systems. We will speed up the testing and inspection of 1,400 kilometers of pipe networks for six major sewage systems in the main city, complete the renovation of 50 kilometers of main and secondary main pipelines, including Leshan Road and Wangfu Street, and complete the renovation of eight sewage pumping stations, including Jiangdong and Qiqiaoweng. Fifth, we will strengthen supervision and assurance of water environmental quality throughout the process. We will thoroughly implement the system of river and lake chiefs, including water quality standards in sections, daily maintenance of river channels, and encroachment and cleanup of river and lake shorelines in their daily assessment.
